Keep your public profile useful
Your display name, handle, bio, profile picture or avatar and interests help people understand who you are. Review your own profile after making a change. Suggested interests and your own added interests can appear in the profile where sharing is permitted.
Use Account security for identity and sign-in settings. Use your profile and Hangout profile tools for the public information each screen lets you edit.
Review each type of sharing
- Profile visibility and activity preferences in Settings & privacy.
- Map visibility and location choices in Hangout.
- Community membership and the audience chosen when publishing.
- Notification previews, email preferences and device notification permissions.
- Blocked accounts and the information included in a support request.
Privacy and account-data requests
Use the Privacy page for the company’s data-handling information and contact details for privacy requests. Some account information is retained for applicable obligations and record integrity. A change to your display name is different from an identity, email or deletion request.
